The Mission

CLEAN WATER CHANGES LIVES

The Gazelle Foundation knows that clean water is the key to life. But no one knows this better than the people of Burundi. For more than 11 million people, access to clean water means access to better health, stronger community, jobs, education, and most of all: hope.

Your race directly funds building water systems in one of the poorest countries in the world. Our Mission. Your Movement For Change.

Our Story

Gilbert Tuhabonye, Gazelle Foundation co-founder and a Burundian genocide survivor who literally ran to freedom and would eventually carry the Olympic torch in Atlanta, win multiple collegiate National Championships, and give back to the Austin community through Gilbert’s Gazelles and as the coach at St. Andrews High School, decided that naturally, a road race would be the Gazelle Foundation's marquee event and fundraiser.

>> Watch Our Video Narrated By Gilbert, Discover how the event 'Run For The Water' significantly contributes to our cause, and what can do to help our friends in Burundi, Africa.
