Ready For Another RRCA Championship?

The Gazelle Foundation’s Run For The Water has once again been selected as part the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Championship Series.

The RRCA Championship Event Series is the largest grassroots-organized running series in the U.S. with over 200 races participating that attract nearly 300,000 participants. RRCA Championship Events are designated annually at the State, Regional, and National level through a competitive bidding process.

The goal of the RRCA Championship Event Series is to celebrate and shine a spotlight on well-run, community-focused events and to award their top performing runners.

Run For The Water is the largest fundraising event benefiting the Gazelle Foundation, dedicated to providing clean water to the people of Burundi. Clean water provides a path out of poverty, bringing access to better health, stronger communities, jobs, education, and most of all: hope.

And with the race entering its 16th year — it has also become a beloved race within the city of Austin, Texas, and a fall premiere running event. It is the second-largest fully charity-produced road race in Austin and has been recognized in numerous publications. The race was even voted ‘Best Race’ in 2021.

Run For The Water is honored to be chosen as an official RRCA Championship Event as it lends prestige and visibility to this beloved race. But most importantly, we are thankful for the additional platform to share with the world the transformative effects of clean water on impoverished communities. See 2021 impact here.
